What Is Sleeking?

Sleeking is an on-demand digital foiling process used to create special finishing effects on printed sheets.

Unlike traditional foil stamping and spot finishing, sleeking doesn't require expensive custom dies.

This technology transfers and bonds the foil or finish you select to digital toner. It's available in:

• Metallic Foils
• Holographic Finishes
• Gloss & Matte Finishes

Plus, you can easily handle jobs with variable data because dies are not required.

How Does SLEEKpro Digital Spot & Foil Finishing Work?

SLEEKpro comes in a broad range of colors and finishing options to give your print jobs the finishing touch.

You can choose from metallic colors like gold, silver, copper, pink, blue, red, white, or even black.

For an example, let's take a look at how this process works with Spot SLEEKpro Silver.

3 Step Process for Spot Metallic Foils:

• Print artwork as 100% black (K: 100%) with digital print engine ONLY where SLEEKpro foil is to be applied.
• SLEEKpro foil will bond only to areas printed with digital toner to ensure perfect registration with print.
• Print second pass of remaining image. Ink will adhere on and/or around SLEEKpro foil as defined.

Suggested Applications of Sleeking / Digital Foiling

Like we said earlier, traditional foil stamping requires custom dies. These can be expensive and time consuming.

However, this process isn't a bad option if you're producing long runs of static (non-variable) data.

On the other hand, sleeking allows you to digitally foil short-to-medium runs economically.
